Folio, half title, title, introduction, text, list of plates. 26 hand coloured aquatint plates 'engraved by M.Dubourg'. Later dark green calf gilt over original green cloth boards; lettered in gilt to upper board. The plates depict the main Roman remains in the city of Rome, apart from the Temples, the Pantheon, the Coliseum, the Arch of Titus, Trajan's Column and the Baths of Dioclesian. Essentially the same as the 1820 edition, but without the grey wash borders to the plates. Dubourg began his career as a miniaturist, exhibiting portraits at the Royal Acedemy in 1786, 87 & 1808. He later produced aquatints for a number of major works
