Quarto, title, verso blank, dedication, preface, list of prints, text pp, 1-284; errata 1 leaf, coloured frontispiece enclosing title. 31 hand coloured plates, all aquatint apart from nos. 13 & 21 which are etched, engraved map. Later full red calf gilt by Riviere, raised bands, lettered in gilt, marbled endpapers, decorative inner gilt dentelles etc. Top edge gilt, bookplate of 'Sir David Lionel Goldsmid-Stern-Salomons. Bart' to front pastedown. Map shows the course of the Avon from its source at Naseby to its junction with the Severn at Tewkesbury through Northamptonshire to Worcester, ending at Evesham.
