FIRST & ONLY EDITION. Large folio, no letterpress, engraved title leaf, 8 aquatint plates, with panorama key in the round, loose as issued, hand coloured and preserved in modern half red morocco portfolio, label in gilt, over marbled boards. Bookplate of 'Norman R. Bobins' to front pastedown. The title and key plate are both rarely present. Barker set out on extended travels in Europe and the Levant in 1799. This panorama of Constantinople was constructed and exhibited at the Panorama, Leicester Square, in 1801, which he managed with his father, Robert Barker. He later worked with John Burford at the Panorama, Strand, constructing panoramas of cities he had visited in the Levant, including Athens and Corfu. A SCARCE WORK.
